Greetings:

Your San Miguel VIP Club welcomes THE RESTAURANT, Sollano #16, 154-7877, open for dinner only, Tuesday through Sundays, 6 – 10 p.m. Since opening its doors earlier this year "The Restaurant" has been the rave. Set in a quaint and comfortable courtyard the menu is a mix of Nuevo and traditional dishes designed and prepared by expert chef Donnie and wife Cynthia. Some appetizers consist of organic tomato soup with walnut pesto with house made croutons, or squash blossom raviolis with ash goat cheese, cream and huitacoche sauce, or lump crab cakes with spicy avocado relish and red pepper-orange reduction. Main dishes are a diverse array of fishes, poultry, including duck, pastas and meats all meticulously prepared with that extra touch. There's a bar menu and rich dessert menu too. VIP club members may take 10% off their tabs when paying with cash or credit card.

VIP participating restaurant inside Villa Mirasol Hotel, Pila Seca #35, 152-6685 wants all VIP Club members to know, that besides offering 10% off for breakfast and lunch to members, during August and September, on weekends, if ordering their special, Chiles En Nogada and if members make reservations beforehand, Villa Mmirasol will offer not only the discount but a complimentary glass of white or red wine.

Our apologies go out to Eduardo Sprowls, owner of U.S.A. Cleaners, Salida de Celaya #14. In our last newsflash we mentioned Eduardo wanted to see more VIP Club Cards at his establishment, we murdered the spelling of his last name, a thousand apologies!

While we are at it and in the mea cupa mode, we neglected to post Café San Antonio, Rufugio #24 S. on our webpage: "http://www.vipsanmiguel.com/" Fernando, the owner brought it to our attention. Thanks for the heads up!

Also, we neglected to offer specific details about Casita de las Flores B & B. It's a mere $33USD a night to spend a night there and when making reservations it's essential to mention you're a VIP Club member and take 10% additional off. For info at HYPERLINK "http://www.casitadelasflores.com/"

Do know when you see http:// . . . it's hot buttoned and by pressing on the address you will go directly to the site?

OK! Tonight, Thursday August 14, at El Viejo Topo, at Plaza Pueblito, Stirling Dickinson #28, 154-8701, there will be a magnificent Tango Show featuring dancers Natalia & Hernan, direct form Buenos Aires. This couple dancing tam is internationally acclaimed. The show starts at 9 p.m. Cover $200 pesos. At the same location, Friday August 15, El Viejo Topo presents Chamber Jazz, Robinson, Kaplan and Chagoyan Trio. The group is a Jazz aficionado's dream. The trio will be joined later in the concert with a percussion team pounding out Latin, African and Brazilian rhythms. Show starts a 9 p.m. Cover $150.

Your club is happy to report that VIP Club charter member Christine Conway is on the mend after taking a nasty fall and breaking her shoulder some time ago. Christine, a hairdresser, has been unable to work up until now. We are sure she could use the business. "Maybe ya'all is one of them Texas gals, fixin' to head back to the Lone Star State. Lord have mercy, ya'all can't head back without a new hair-do! Christine's Cutting Garden, Calle Codo #4, is open Tuesday through Saturday at 10 a.m., 154-9130. You go girl!

Thanks to Fernando, owner of Antigua Trattoria Roma Restaurante, (Flat Iron Building) where Zacateros meets Coda. Antigua Trattoria offered VIP Club members a complimentary Sambucco Romano during the month of July. (Gracias)

We forgot to congratulate Donnie Stewart and the Mrs. at Don Quijote, Prolongacion de Pila Seca #55 for being in business for eight years. Keep serving the ribs!

Want to try something different? Don't forget VIP participating restaurant, Dila's, Ancha de San Antonio #31, 152-4050. Dila's, named after the owner, specializes in South Asian Cuisine. His food has pizzazz!

Tired of the same ole, same ole for breakfast? Try Harry's brunch, Saturday and Sundays 10- 2 p.m. They have some tasty and reasonable egg dishes along with items like Monte Cristo Sandwich and more.

Club member Mauricio Magana, a principle in VIP Club participating business, 3 Senors (horse back riding and camping), wants members to know that portions of fees go to rescuing dogs. 044-415-101-4976.

We are not much on rules but Your VIP Club would like to review the few we have. Your card is good for up to four people, if all charges are on the same tab. If there are more than four in your party, speak to the management beforehand. Some owners welcome and honor your entire party amount in your party, yet our contract calls for a maximum of four at some restaurants the owners aren't always on hand. Your discount is waived for happy hour; all you can eat buffets, tobacco products, T-shirts and cover for entertainment, or special events like New Years, Valentine's Day etc. Please check our webpage: HYPERLINK "http://www.vipsanmiguel.com/" http://www.vipsanmiguel.com/ for the specific discounts offered.

Do you know where your card is? If not contact us here for replacement.

If a member encounters a problem, a rarity, please, DON'T ARGUE! Contact us here; we'll do the sword fighting for you. Please remember, you as a member represent the entire Club. Please be courteous and generous. Act like a VIP and you'll be treated like one.

Lastly: cybermatsa users: sometimes you receive, sometimes you don't. We recommend you might consider having an alternate e-mail address. We are vipsma@gmail.com/

Thank you for your continuous and loyal support.
