This initial 2013 VIP Club News Flash is being sponsored by VIP Club member Greg Gunter! Greg, a sanmiguelense, and steady columnist for Atencion serving the weekly as a photographer while penning his social column. Greg is also a novelist. Greg is seeking grass-roots support enabling him to properly publish his latest novel. There's a fundraising campaign going on, managed by "Indiegogo," an on-line, crowd-sourced web site recently responsible for the successful campaigns orchestrated by local artist Anado and La Calaca Festival. Funds are needed to launch: "The Cupola Collusion," a political thriller. For instructions to contribute go to: http://igg.me/p/287318/x/1433385/ Make a pledge. No amount is too small. Consider supporting this local writer. . . Who knows? . . . We might have the next John Grisham in our midst. (See tag on and attachment at the end of this post for additional instructions).

(Attention business people: Any business can sponsor a VIP Club newsflash. We send out 1500 to our members once to twice a month. Cost to sponsor a flash is 1000 pesos.)

Greetings:

     Happy New Year everybody!

Your Club is putting the final touches together for "Call Buddy" Your Club's 24 hour a day hot line, here in San Miguel, for help. Stay tuned for the general announcement and instructions!

Your VIP Club web page: http://www.vipsanmmiguel.com, during 2012, had 19,248 views. That's about a 20% increase over the previous year! Your Club is very pleased to announce that its members going to the web page more frequently in order to acquire vital information about VIP Club participating restaurants and other establishments. Often we hear astronomical numbers and lofty claims when it comes to numbers from other web pages, but figure, we're just a small fry, in a niche market, yet our advertisers too have voiced and are reporting plus sales. Web page wise, we're pleased with the Club's web page's growth. Web page's advertising rates are quoted on the web page.

VIP Club participating restaurant and establishment Sierra Nevada Hotel has some dynamite and diverse values for members during the month of January! The text and extent of their offers might be too lengthy to post right here, but please, read the attachment below for Sierra Nevada's values during the month. (See attachment)

Also, right down Hospicio from Sierra Nevada sits La Crepe Restaurant, known and respected for the obvious along with other French treats. Proprietor Alfonso welcomes VIP Club members offering 15% off.

VIP Club participating business, Ci Banco, has moved their banking office across the street, to San Francisco #25. The new digs are more spacious. Ci Banco is now geared to better service customers. Banker, Cinthia Aguilar, desires members to know that VIP Club members receive a preferred rate over the exchange rate posted to the public! Ci Banco stands ready to handle all incoming and outgoing wire transfers! Ci Banco will cash U.S. and Canadian checks for registered VIP Club members! Cynthia can provide those with Ci Banco accounts a debit Visa card, render checking accounts and provide top-notch investment opportunities.! Visit Cynthia at the new location or email her at

aaguilar@cibanco.com or cynthiamontesdeoca1985@yahoo.com.mx/

See visual artist Marion Perlet's latest paintings at La Conexion's Gallery, Aldama #3. The works will hang until March. (example attached)

Also see the new works of painter Susan Santiago and consider attending a special reception at Magenta Gallery, Zacateros #26, Saturday, January 12, 5 - 8 pm.

We've heard from Katy, at Oko Noodle Bar, a recent new participator within the VIP Club family of restaurants. Katy expressed she is so pleased to see many of her old customers back, especially those who are VIP Club members. Yet she very much would like to see VIP Club members who perhaps have yet to sample Oko's Orient based meals, in Plaza Alhordiga, across the road from Mega, the lively restaurant earns high marks for quality and presentation! Visit Katy and Sam, they'll be thrilled to see you and tell them you're card members and heard about them via the VIP Club.

Bellwether German style restaurant, Berlin, Umaran #19, a VIP Club participating restaurant wants members to know that one is likely to find their favorite imported German or Belgian beer at Berlin.

We visited Shannon, who operates CG Leathers on Zacateros #32. Shannon wants members to know about his custom leather bags especially designed for men. They're stylish, practical and sold at a great price. CG has a full array of fine leather products and CG offers members 10% off to VIP Club members.

Another author, and former sanmiguelense, Trish Vargas, who some might remember as an editor at Atencion, has also penned a novel titled: "People Who Live In Small Ponds . . .  shouldn't make waves." Trish's pen name is Beatrice Vargas. Trish describes her latest book as a gentle satire on San Miguel and the newspaper, but it's fiction, and not cruel, though rather a black comedy. She thinks locals, familiar with San Miguel might get a good laugh. The book can be purchased through amazon.com/ Trish's Website .

Some have mentioned they've noticed we've been adding photos of some of the foods served at our participating VIP Club restaurants. In the past we failed to identify where some of those break-your-mouth dishes could be devoured. So see the attachments below where we feature food items from: Bistro Los Senderos, Cafe Rama, El Tomato, Hank's, Oko and Orquedia. In the near future look for more photos from our all-star line-up of restaurants.
