March 19, 2011

Your VIP Club welcomes Baile Cafe, located inside Arthur Murray Dance Studio's rear patio, Hernandez Macias #68, 152-0097. The restaurant has been operating for some time with a good reputation and offers a varied menu serving both national and international dishes. Juan Carlos, former chef at Planta Baja is your host. Baile offers VIP Club members 10% off their bills.

Again Your Club will post the attachment with the particulars regarding Chapala Medical and remind VIP Club members they are entitled to an entirely free, one-time, medical consultation. You will need to call their toll free numbers, separate ones for emergencies, verses those for appointments. See VIP Club Newsflash dated March 3 here at the Vipclub Previous News

We will also continue to attach some of the newer restaurants, goods and services recently recruited by Your Club!

Friends of VIP Club member and long-time buddy, Don Clay, are sponsoring a fund raiser to help with his care. The worthwhile event takes place Wednesday, March 23, at 6 pm at La Fragua Restaurante on Cuna de Allende. The incomparable Maria will entertain. One-hundred percent of the $100 peso donation asked for at the door goes directly toward Don's care. Maria and the establishment are offering their services free. La Fraugua is no longer a participating establishment in the VIP Club and dropped out due to new management who are still assessing the Club's value to their new venture. I sense Don will be on hand. Please, old friends and new, support Don and see Maria who puts on a heck of a show. Thanks to David Bossman and kind others looking out for our Don.

VIP Club member Dawn Gaskill, who operates Galeria Eclectica, inside Instituto Allende will have a special exhibition featuring DaNisha Sculpturing on the back patio of Instituto, Thursday, March 24, 5 - 8 pm and Gravity Works performs at 6:30. (If you've never seen Gravity Works, attend, you could be in for a treat, they are dynamic and colorful with their costuming, grace and athletic strength!)

Speaking of further benevolence: Mezzanine, Cuna de Allende #11, aka: bistro by bobo, is donating 20% of all proceeds to the Japanese Relief Fund up until 31 March.

On the same block, (Cuna de Allende) late into the night there's always something live going on at La Malinche/Regorios, Cuna Allende #10, with live music almost every night.

It's Dick's Cantina, Zacateros and The Zone, Umaran #36 both VIP Club participating establishments, now dueling Kareoke Fridays nights and both with continued March Madness.

Maggie Bongiovanni and her partner Paulette Roger have opened a consignment shop, Potranca #14, Col. Guadalupe! Hours 11 am - 4 pm, Thurs - Sat.

A little birdie told us that soon enough you BBQ lovers who live outside San Miguel on the Dolores side will be able to enjoy VIP Club participating restaurant, Texas Longhorn's Smokehouse for its tasty meats and more out in them parts. Don't tell Keith I told you.
