Construction has begun!
As many of you know, road construction has begun on the highway outside of town towards Dolores Hidalgo. It is a mess right now, and participating restaurants out there are finding it a bit difficult. The target date for it to be finished is the 15th of September 2024 according to the governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo.
Construction zones can disrupt regular business operations and traffic flow, leading to a decline in customers. By supporting restaurants in these areas, you contribute to maintaining a sense of community and help businesses weather the challenges posed by construction.

Eat delicious food!
El Vergel Bistro & Market has excellent food with a French flair. They are open from 10-6 Tuesday through Thursday, and 9-6 Friday through Sunday. The VIP discount is 10% when paying in cash or with a credit card.
Asado de Campo is a true Mexican grill featuring steaks and other meats cooked over a wood fired grill. They are open Wednesday through Sunday from 1-8 (closing a bit earlier at 7 on Sundays). The VIP discount is 15% when paying cash, 10% when paying with a credit card.
Ristorante Italiano D'Yoalli features fresh pasta as well as beautiful shrimp and fish dishes. They are open Thursday through Sunday from 1-8. The VIP discount is 10% when paying in cash or with a credit card.
Right next door is the very popular Restaurante Cien Fuegos which produces excellent wood fired pizza. Although the Club discount does not apply in this instance, they are famous for their 2x1 pizza deal on Thursdays. They are open from 1-8 daily and the VIP discount is 10% off regular menu items, cash or credit.
Take a day to bask it thermal waters at the famous La Gruta Spa (closed Mondays and Tuesdays). The VIP discount does not apply to the entry fee but you do get 10% off when ordering food at the restaurant.
On the back road to Atotonilco is El Coyote Flaco, which is a unique experience often with live music in an open air setting. They are open 1-8 Thursday through Sunday. The VIP discount is 10%, cash only.
Further on, consider a day trip to nearby Dolores Hidalgo. One of the two non-San Miguel restaurants that is a VIP Club member is Da Monica, an authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of town. They have great courtyard seating and are just a block off the main square, and they offer a 10% discount (cash or credit card) to VIP members. They also provide catering service here in San Miguel for small events of up to 50 people, applying the same discount for this service. Contact them directly for more information at 418-149-5136.
